LARGE GEORGE JONES MAJOLICA JARDINIERE c1880

£445.00

SKU: 1917

This fabulous Victorian Majolica Jardiniere stands on three feet and is decorated with Hummingbirds and Jasmine.  It was made by George Jones around 1880 and bears his impressed marks and the painted pattern number 3250.

The Jardiniere displays beautifully.  There are cracks to the base and it would need a water-tight container inside if used for plants.  There is no restoration.

The striking contrast of colours, the depth of the relief moulding and the juxtaposition of the Hummingbirds and Jasmine make this Jardiniere a fine example of English Victorian Majolica.
