This Fine Regency Mahogany Davenport, of slim proportions and raised on castors, dates from circa 1820.
Having a polished back, the Davenport is free-standing, and can be viewed from all angles. Â It has. Sliding top, which works smoothly, enabling the writer to place their chair beneath, and a folding pen and ink drawer, holding two glass inkwells.
With very well graduated drawers to one side and dummy drawer fronts to the other, the Davenport has an unusual polished slide disguised as the first drawer.
In good, original condition throughout, the veneers chosen are of fine quality with well-carved panels to the back and front.
