This Large Spode Water Jug, with gadrooned edge detail and in the Trophies Marble Pattern B111, dates from circa 1830.  It is fully marked to the base.

The Pattern includes the Four Treasures which represent the Four Fine Arts:  Music, Chess, Calligraphy and Painting.

The Jug is in unrestored condition.  There is an old surface chip to the back of the handle.  The other handle, which would have been used for lifting when the Jug was full, has been broken off.   Other than this, there are some minor star cracks.  The Jug is in good, sound and stable condition with no cracks to the main handle.

It is unusual to find an Antique Jug by this Maker and in this size and Pattern.

Height:  12.5 inches (32 cm)
