This Alexander Lauder Pottery Barnstaple Fish Wall Pocket dates from circa 1890. It is marked to the base LAUDER BARUM in incised script.

The modelling, colours and glaze are notably beautiful.

The tips of the tail have some old restoration. The line across the back is not damage, just a line of slip.
