VICTORIAN PUB SHERRY DECANTER c1890

£145.00

SKU: 2451

This fascinating Victorian Pub Sherry Decanter advertises ‘SHERRY 1/- PER GLASS’.  The letters are cut into the glass and then painted or gilded.

it is wondrous to think that prices remained so stable that Publicans were prepared to buy such Decanters for their display.  A rare survivor symbolising the heyday of the Victorian Pub.
The stopper, which has small chips to the base, fits the Decanter well and is of the right period but we cannot guarantee it is original.

Overall Height:  12.5 inches (32 cm)
