This wonderful Set of Five Servants’ Bells with accompanying Name Plates, date from circa 1840.

The Bells, which have matching Ormolu Rosettes, are numbered 4, 5, 5, 5 and 6 and all ring well.  The diameter of the base of he Bells ranges from 3 to 3.5 inches (7.5 to 9 cm).  They re in untouched condition.

One of the Bells has, what appears to be, the initials R.W.E. cast on the inside, possibly a Foundry Mark.  One Bell has a small hole to the side and another a small chip to the base.

The accompanying Name Plates are painted on metal.  They measure approximately 4.5 inches (11.5 cm) by 3 inches (7.5 cm).

They conjure up a bustling scene ‘below stairs’ in times past.

These Bells and accompanying Name Plates would make an excellent decorative feature in any home.
