This Grand Pair of Victorian Staffordshire Cow Group Figures date from circa 1860.  They are well modelled and are of good size, standing approximately 9 inches (23 cm) high.

The Figures are in good condition.  There is an old chip to the tip of one Cow’s ear and the young man’s head has been reglued with very little of the original pottery missing (please see close-up photograph).  There are a couple of small surface chips to the underside of the footrim of one figure.

Miraculously both Cows’ Horns have survived over 150 years of dusting.
