FINE STAFFORDSHIRE FIGURE OF FARMER & HIS BOY c1860
£325.00
This very well modelled and detailed Victorian Staffordshire Figure dates from circa 1860. It stands a stately 14.25 inches (36 cm) high.
It shows an exceptionally well-dressed Farmer carrying his sickle over his shoulder and his other arm around a Young Boy who cradles a tiny bird in his hand.
The Farmer is standing in a patch of Maize (Sweetcorn) which he is, presumably, about to cut.
There is a lot of detail to this Figure and it is one of the best of its kind.
The condition is good. There is a small, surface chip to the underside of the footrim at the back. There is no restoration.
Height: 14.25 inches (36 cm)
