This very striking Pair of Signed Black Forest Bull and Cow Figures date from circa 1900.

They are signed J. ABPLANALP (Joseph Abplanalp 1860 – 1930) to the front of the bases. Jacob Abplanalp was a renowned carver from Brienz, Switzerland.

During their lifetime there have been losses to their ears and horns – all part of their history. There are no repairs.

The Figures are in good unrestored condition.
